‘Shailer’s White Moss’/R.centifolia alba muscosa/R.muscosa alba/’White Bath’/’Clifton’s Moss’/’Blanc Carné’: Les rosiers Mousseux – blancs. En culture avant 1810. Issu sans doute d’une mutation de R.centifolia, on découvrit cette rose dans le jardin de Shailer, à Baltusea, en Angleterre… Très parfumée, c’est sans doute l’une des plus belles roses blanches. Elle est malheureusement assez capricieuse et peut vite se flétrir en exposition trop aride et ensoleillée.

Moss and Provence Roses.
Their beautiful buds and delicious fragrance render these great favourites, and deservedly so.
Pruning.—These should be slightly pruned. Remove all old wood, thin out some of the past season's shoots where overcrowded, shorten the laterals of those remaining, and cut back the young growths to about six eyes. Prune in February or March.
White Bath... Paper white. Beautiful. Large, full. Introduced 1810.

Moss roses...White Bath. Salter, 1817. Summer flowering. Large, pure white, occasionally with a striped petal, globular, opening flat. Calyx not winged. Bold leaf, held out, dark olive green. Green wood, red thorns, large and small. Habit upright, moderate; prune closely. Still one of the best Whites.
