Origin:
Bred by Julien-ALEXANDRE Hardy (France, before 1831).
Introduced in France by Jean Laffay in circa 1831 as 'Noémie'.
Class:
Hybrid China, Hybrid Gallica.  
Bloom:
Violet - pink, white streaks, stripes, flecks.  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, expanded , scalloped bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  Glandular sepals, long sepals buds.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, spreading, well-branched.  Medium green foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.
