Registration name: William Allen Richardson
Bloom:
Yellow to deep yellow, orange shading, ages to white . Mild to strong, tea, opinions vary fragrance. Average diameter 3". Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, old-fashioned, quartered bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit:
Climbing, few or no prickles/thorns. Glossy, dark green foliage. 5 to 7 leaflets.
Height: up to 12' (up to 365cm). Width: up to 8' (up to 245cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer. Can be used for cut flower or garden. Very vigorous. can be grown as a shrub.
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Different opinions whether it is a sport or a seedling of 'Rêve d'Or'.
William Allen Richardson (February 20, 1819 New Orleans - October 29, 1892 Louisville KY) . Much interested in the cultivation and propagation of roses, he imported a good many, and in this way became acquainted by correspondence with Madame Ducher.
