The pollen parent is not known, however, I suspect 'Madame Isaac Periere' might be Dad as they grow side-by-side, 'Rugosity' has tall growth, and the perfumes are similar.
Quite beautiful, Simon. How I hope it can stand my climate and still look like your pix. Freycinet was a terrible disappointment. Its flowers lasted for about two seconds in Sydney and weren't even purple, just shocking pink.
Thanks, Meryl. If you have ever grown 'Ann Endt', this one behaves almost the same. It is, however, a much larger plant than 'Ann Endt'. If you would like to try a plant and help me trial it I have a potted, small, sucker that I have been growing on for about a year now that I can send you. It probably won't flower the first year for you but you never know your luck. If you are interested PM me your address. We could do a deal ;) If you've still got Eddie's Jewel' I'd love a few cuttings if you have any spare.
