One great favourite is Robert Craig, and somehow or other I have never seen it in any other private garden but mine. It is an exceedingly vigorous climber with extraordinary foliage of reddish-brown in the new shoots, and glossy as if each leaf had been varnished or richly glazed. It blooms with a very pretty habit, so that one can cut long sprays for indoors; and so profuse is it that I can fill the parlour, and the tree looks none the poorer for the cutting. The buds are of fine copper yellow like 'William Allan Richardson'; as the flowers open they turn creamier and sometimes end up snow white, so that the varying shades on one spray are exceedingly beautiful. The flower, not the leaf, has a very sweet scent like the strongest sweetbriar.

Wichuraiana Ramblers. By Dr. A. H. Williams, Vice-President N.R.S.
The wichuraiana Ramblers fall naturally into two well defined groups:
I. The Early, containing those varieties whose main flowering season is in the month of June. They are mostly hybrids of R. wichuraiana with Teas, H.T.'s, H.P.'s, and Chinas. The trusses are as a rule not large, though they may sometimes contain a dozen or more blooms. The individual flowers are often large, sometimes four or five inches across.
Early Flowering Double Varieties.
Robert Craig. — A strong grower with fine thorny stems and magnificent, large, very glossy dark green leaves; mildew proof and almost evergreen. The flowers are produced in small or moderate trusses. The buds are orange yellow, and have a peculiar rugged appearance; but they open into very large creamy white flowers so closely packed with petals as to resemble snowballs. It is magnificent in a hot season.

The Wichuraiana Roses: A Selection of Varieties
(The approximate date of flowering of each variety is given.)
Robert Craig. — A dainty rose of beautiful shades; the buds are perhaps best described as apricot, the open flowers as fawn-coloured. June 25.

The Wichuraiana Hybrids.
The following list includes most of the best Wichuraiana Roses to date (1910):
Robert Craig. — A large yellow Rose, with a rather flat flower, very double, pale yellow with an orange centre. Its buds are of a darker orange, borne in small trusses.

Twelve Rare New Wichuriana Roses
Now offered for the first time. All are new Wichuriana Hybrids, hardy in all sections, and are literally Tea Roses, with climbing habit and undeniable hardiness. All bloom in clusters and we recommend our patrons to give the entire collection a trial. Wherever a hardy, vigorous climbing Rose can be used they will prove exceedingly satisfactory.
Robert Craig. — An extra strong grower, rich, dark green foliage. Color yellow shaded with apricot and deepening in the center; very rich in tint. Might be described as a combination of yellow, apricot and fawn; very pretty buds.
