Bred by François Lacharme (France, 1867).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1873 as 'Boule de Neige'.
Introduced in United States by Peter Henderson & Co. Historic Archive in 1887 as 'Ball of Snow'.

Bourbon, Hybrid Bourbon, Hybrid Noisette, Hybrid Perpetual, Noisette.  

White, green shading.  Milk fragrance.  Moderate fragrance.  Average diameter 2.5".  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in large clusters, cupped, globular, rosette, scalloped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  

Glossy, dark green, dense foliage.  

Height: 4' to 9'10" (120 to 300cm).  Width: 3' to 4' (90 to 120cm).

USDA zone 5b through 10b.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  

The bush of 'Boule de Neige' is higher than wider. Refer photo comments.
The synonym 'Perle des Blanches' for 'Ball of Snow' is incorrect.
