Initial post 3 MAY by Pereirelover
I received this rose from Loubert in February 2023. I planted her in a big spacious pot and because she's a short climber I used an Obelisk to cover it. In April of that year she took off and made three rather tall, strong, upright shoots. In May the buds appeared in clusters of four to five. Because it was advised to give her full sun I placed her in one of the most sunny spot of my garden. Blooms opened during a heatwave in early June and the gorgeous soft pink flowers reminded me of Heritage from Austin but a bit more full and they last longer. The fragrance was moderately fruity but later in the season, during her second flush, the fragrance was strong. The blooms are cupped at first but open a bit more while aging and the color goes from soft pink to cream. By the end of October 2023 she reached the top of my obelisk and that's 170 cm or 6 feet. Now, May 2024 she made many lateral shoots on her old wood and she's filled with buds. Health is reasonably good although she can get some mildew which gets cured by using the milk solution. Nearly all the people who saw her flowers were ecstatic. The flowers are very heat resistant but during long periods of rain the big buds can find it difficult to open correctly so they can ball but in sunny, hot weather she's divine.
One of her parents is rose Jane Goodall (Hanak)
