Forestville Hybrid Gigantea. (synonym “Senateur Amic’.  P. Nabonnand, France, 1924.
Per ARS: Cl. tea rose;  per Vintage Gardens: Rambler.
This California found Rose has been identified as the Nabonnand hybrid gigantea ‘Senateur Amic’.  The  Vintage Gardens Rose book tells us that it is “in the mold of such beauties as ‘Belle Portugaise’, this rose offers large, full, tea-like flowers of deep carmine-rose to purple; a great spectacle when in bloom. The habit is less climbing, more shrub-like and arching.”  The bloom colour shifts between lavender pink and carmine-red. This rose is Spring blooming.
