Again a nice flush in the spring. I sacrificed every flower to see if it would take any pollen at all. There must have been at least 50 or 60 blooms or more. I did not expect any to take - as I vaguely remember trying this before. It looks like there are about 5 or 6 that are showing distinct swelling, and all the others have fallen off the bush. These may abort as well, but at least I know it is a capable, if reluctant, hip setter.
