Ruby Modern, Large-flowered Hybrid Tea. medium red, repeat-flowering. This Rose should not be confused with the Polyantha Rose of the same name; neither variety is particularly well known, and this one seems to be only available to Australian gardeners. It bears large, oval buds that open very slowly to huge flat blooms that are filled with a hundred or so tightly packed, intense orange-red petals.  They last a long time on both the bush and indoors without losing colour, and are excellent for cutting, even if removed at an advanced stage. The blooms are so filled with petals that they are not very attractive; however they become a little more attractive as they open more fully. The growth is tall and upright, and the abundant flowers are borne amid the dark green, semi-glossy, disease-free foliage. Zone 5-9. Tantau, Germany, 1989. Parentage unknown.
