NE England - Rosa 'Peter's Persica' - a climbing hybrid Hulthemia persica rose. Bred as a tribute to Peter Seabrook, who died in January aged 86, by Shropshire-based rose breeder Chris Warner with the endorsement of the Seabrook family. Peter was a well known British horticulturist, gardening writer and television broadcaster. Persica roses are derived from Rosa persica, a rose native to Iran and Afghanistan. Chris Warner, who developed the rose, said: '''Peter’s Persica' has been 30 years in the making, beginning its life as a desert rose in Iran". The rose has just come into commerce circa 2023.
