Article (newsletter) (Jun 2010) Page(s) 44. ....since 1981, the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences has bred 23 new cultivars for garden use and six for cut flowers through a combination of hybridisation and irradiation mutagenesis. They have also bred Tian shan zhi xing, Tian shan zhi xue, Tian shan zhi guang and other cultivars with resistance to cold and disease.
