Extremes of habit were displayed by by John Mattock Ltd , The Rose Nurseries , Abingdon , Oxford . ' Rainbow ' is a big shrub rose , up to five feet , with flowers in a mixture of yellow , copper and red . The theory is that shrub roses , which need little pruning or attention , appeal to the reluctant gardeners of today .
