Eugene Verdier (Calot 1864)—Very large, compact, typical rose type; pale hydrangea-pink; outer petals lilac-white; fragrant; very erect; rather dwarf habit, with extra strong stems; free bloomer; late. This variety has been greatly confused with Eugenie Verdier and L'Indispensible. It is, however, entirely distinct; its very coarse, light green foliage and heavy stem alone distinguish it from any other variety.

Choice List of Peonies
Eugene Verdier — This is one of the most exquisitely chaste and refined Peonies of the whole family.  It combines every desirable feature.  Immense size; globular shaped, and literally packed with petals; color blush, delicately shaded to pink toward the center; profuse bloomer, deliciously fragrant; very slow in opening, holding a long time either on or off the plant.  As a cut flower and for decorative purposes this Peony is unexcelled by any Chrysanthemum ever grown.  We place it first and foremost and challenge comparison.  $1.00 each.
