Fossil species of about 35 million years ago. Named by Leo C. Lesquereux (1806 -1889) in 1883 for Charlotte Hill (February 15, 1849 Fulton County, Indiana - April 11, 1930 Sacramento Ca.) who found the fossils in Florissant valley, Colorado, USA
