Deep pink or violet-red. Medium to large, very double, flat, reflexed bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer. Leafy sepals, decorative, mossed buds.

Notes:
At some point, 'Lancel' seems to have been confused with Vibert's Moss Rose, 'Etna', introduced about a decade after 'Lancel'. The claims of synonymity don't seem to have happened until the 1870's [see References].
