Origin:
Bred by Louis Claude Noisette (France, before 1826).
Class:
Gallica / Provins.
Bloom:
Purple, violet shading.  Very double bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Parentage:
If you know the parentage of this rose, or other details, please contact us.
Notes:
There were at least two Gallicas named 'Merveilleuse', one of which was an 'Agatha-type' rose with pink flowers, the other with purplish flowers. We have breeder attributions to both Descemet and Charpentier for 'La Merveilleuse', but it isn't clear from the References which rose belongs to which breeder. The purple one we assign to Louis Noisette.
