Notes:
Insignis = Latin for showy or beautiful.
Possibly more than one single species-ish Peony of this name—see also P. tenuifolia insignis. Some REFERENCES refer to this being P. albiflora or P. chinensis, which are most often considered synonyms of P. lactiflora, but both have been used to mean any herbaceous peony.
