Margaret, would there be any chance you could contact the owner of this rose and ask if I might be able to acquire some budwood from it, please?

Roger Lambelin can stripe intermittently - the one James Young photographed was at Ruston's (I don't know if they still sell budwood, but it used to be a minimum of 20 buds). The one I photographed was at Thomas For Roses nursery at Birdwood, SA. I don't have it. Might be simplest to order a plant from Thomases. They use multiflora as their understock.
Correction: Woodside, not Birdwood.

I was going to get it from Misty Downs but it seems they are having some issues at the moment and may well close down.

Oh dear. Despite their mislabels, they are a major supplier of heritage roses in Australia, I'd guess the largest remaining one, and their loss would be a devastating blow to old-rose preservation here.

If they are going to close down (and I hope they don't) it's probably worthwhile finding out what will happen to their stock. Presumably there will be some kind of sale, and they have a great range.
