Thank you. Some of the old HTs are well worth a place in the garden. Provided you don't prune them like showbench roses.
I'll have to prune a lot this winter to reclaim paths in my garden. Moral: never plant Teas in a confined space.

I rarely prune.

I don't believe in it other than to shape. I prefer the softer lines the plant creates as it grows naturally.

That's why most of the roses I produce are not Hybrid Teas.

Hips, leaves, canes, they are all ornamental IMO.

Let the plants do what they want to do and intercede as little as possible.

There is surprising beauty and grace to be discovered when we garden like that - also, in climates like ours, a continuous succession of fresh new growth and blooms, even through winter.
