A large, peaceful walled garden with a large arboretum, the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland, Glasnevin are a few kilometers north of the Dublin city center. The small rose garden is well-kept and nicely labeled. The collection is small but well-grown, with a number of McGredy and Dickson roses. The species collection is very small, planted in a heavily shaded area. The rest of the botanic garden is worth the long, rambling walk to tour its borders.
