April 2016 - planting some special roses obtained thanks to a HRIA David Ruston grant, and the generous assistance of a number of HRIA members in South Australia who collected budwood of rare varieties from the Repository at Rustons Roses in Renmark and in private SA gardens, and arranged for the rigorous quarantine process required to get it over the border to WA.
Once in Western Australia, Reudi Etter budded these roses onto Fortuniana for us - a difficult task because the required fumigation, along with unaccountable postal delays meant the budwood was desiccated and difficult to work with.
Seen here is a member of the City of Swan Horticultural Team whose work and dedication is an inspiration.
