Currently restoring extanct rose beds based on original 100 yr old is plantings and aesthetic. 1914 stone balustrades and original sawtooth edging define the upper level which receives full Southern exposure. The lower level has North and Eastern exposure with roses newly planted to grow on retaining walls. There are also small parallel beds flanking stone steps that have original Orleans polyanthas and newer plantings in keeping with them. Future plans include a small arbor atop an original rustic gate and a large arbor with seating at the end of a grass allee abutting a stacked stone 5' tall retaining wall. Big plans, but little money! We'll see how it goes!
