Alan grows over 300 roses, and over 170 different varieties, in Chandler, Arizona. He completely overhauled his front yard and turned it into a roseraie! He dug out the clay soil to a depth of two feet and had an undulating cement border installed. He replaced the old soil with a forest soil/sand/mulch mix, added bubblers, re-routed the exisitng sprinklers and dug 44 holes for roses. After that, he positioned an arch at the front of the yard and planted a
'Climbing Sunsprite' on either side. Not content to rest on his laurels, Alan then planted a hedge of 'Sunsprite' roses around the perimeter of the yard. There are loads of stunning shots of Alan's roses (check out
