Being less than an hour from the Gulf of Mexico, we get excited just hearing a forecast for a possibility for snow. Christmas Day, 2004, we woke up to a wonderful gift of the first ever Christmas snowfall in the Houston area. The roses loved it as many started flushing out in early February.
The Gertrude Jekyll Garden at The Vintage Rosery is surrounded by 50 pillars covered with climbing roses. A hundred old garden shrub roses are within of various heights, colors, bloom times.
