At Yonder Garden this part is dedicated to perennials and roses in masses to the point that weeds just cant find the room to grow. Ocasionally when they do I like their look so much we keep them anyway. Other times we till them into the soil and plant a mass of Yarrow or daylilly. |
At the eastern edge of the Yonder Farms parking lot is the rose hedge. It is composed of between 3 and 5 of the same variety planted 3 feet apart starting with Therese Bugnet and continuing with Buffalo Gal, Yankee Lady, Pink Grootendorst, John Franklin, John Davis etc. In the distance note my daughter leaning over to smell a rose. The entire system is on a drip irrigation system. Very little pruning is done so customers at Yonder Farms can see the "Natural" shape and size. |

Yonder Garden is a private garden associated with Yonder Farms in Colonie, NY. The section of the garden shown in this photo is composed of masses of daylilies (sometimes hundreds of clumps) together with groups of 3 of the same rose planted in a triangle 18 inches apart. The fence is a stockade fence and as it has posts every 10 feet we decided to repeat this patern every 10 feet. On the posts of the fence there is a different climber for each post. |
