Hello Jan,

I was looking at photos of Kathryn Morely on HMF and saw your beautiful photo. I am considering ordering some plants of this cultivar and note that you live in Wisconsin, so are in a similar cold zone to mine in Eastern Ontario. My zone is 4b. I am wondering if you would mind answering a few quetions about your experience with her?

How cold hardy you find Kathryn Morely to be in your area?
How vigorous is she in growing back after a hard winter?
How large does she grow in southeastern Wisconsin?
How good is her repeat bloom, sparse, repeat flushes, almost continuous

Thank you in advance for any answers you can provide to my questions.

Thanks Rick, for your questions about Kathryn Morley. I grow it in a raised bed in our front yard with quite a few of the Austins and Buck roses and it is hardy here. Initially, it was planted deep and for the first several years, I throw on some extra soil around the plant but it has never died all the way down. The roses in that bed are supported by a series of very tall trellises and this one grows to about 6 ft. I have a couple of Golden Celebration growing next to KM and they are a little taller. Good rebloom and very large flowers. GC is a better rebloomer though. Austins here all have quick rebound in the spring. Zone 4b where you live will be more of a challenge both in hardiness and in spring growth. Give them some winter protection and you should be fine. You will love it! Good luck, Rick, with Kathryn Morley, she is a beauty!
Jan
