Amalie de Greiff (P. Lambert). -- Brick-rose, with salmon red and orange yellow centre. Large, fairly full, of fine form, long bud carried on stiff stems, sweet-scented. Growth vigorous. 2/6 each.

Amaury Fonseca (Soupert & Notting). -- Pure white, suffused in autumn with light pink; of medium size and perfect form. Growth dwarf, unusually free flowering. Very effective. 3/6 each.

American Pillar (Hybrid Polyantha)... Conrad, 1909, very vigorous. Lovely shade of pink with a clear white eye, with bright yellow stamens, flowers single and large; they are produced in huge clusters.

Pruning. — Cut back fairly hard the first season after planting; afterwards they only require thinning and slightly stopping the long shoots and laterals.
