Alister Stella Gray (Noisette.) (Paul and Son, 1894), pale yellow with deeper yellow centre; blooming in clusters early and late, it resembles W. A. Richardson but is smaller and paler in colour; a good pillar rose.

Single Flowered Climbing Roses.
American Pillar, (Hybrid Tea), chaste shade of pink, bright yellow anthers; large single flowers, immense clusters excellent for pillars, arches and screens; midseason flowering.

Lord Penzance's Sweet Briars.
These wonderful single roses, raised by Lord Penzance, have already obtained a world-wide reputation, and are very popular. Like their parent (sweet briar) both foliage and flower are deliciously fragrant, they are all strong growers, free bloomers, and perfectly hardy. The flowers are single, but lasting. Extra strong plants, 4 to 6 feet high, 2/— each. These require no pruning, and make impenetrable hedges of great beauty.
Amy Robsart (Keynes & Co., 1894), lovely deep rose; the buds before opening are most graceful, of Sweet Briar type; an abundant bloomer; robust and free.

These wonderful single roses, raised by Lord Penzance, have already obtained a world-wide reputation, and are very popular. Like their parent (sweet briar) both foliage and flower are deliciously fragrant, they are all strong growers, free bloomers, and perfectly hardy. The flowers are single, but lasting. Anne of Geierstein (Keynes & Co., 1894), dark crimson, followed by an abundance of pretty clustered bunches of hips; large foliage; good grower, and graceful branching habit.

China Roses.
These are persistent bloomers, splendid for massing, and most suitable for beds or hedges, and require very little cutting except to remove any dead wood, and to keep the plants in shape.
Ariadne (China Tea), bright crimson, centres shaded yellow, moderately full, showy petals; excellent for bedding. Free habit of growth.

Blush Rambler, (Polyantha), blush pink, shade of apple blossom; large pyramidal clusters, suitable for arches, pergolas or hedges. Early flowering. Gold Medal, N.R.S.

Brenda (Keynes & Co., 1894), maiden's blush or peach, dainty in colour and shade, the contrast and effect of the bright golden anthers add peculiar charm to this variety.
