R. lucida with very large blossoms in silvery pink, is hardly less lovely, and the much smaller R. indica var. Miss Lowe is an exquisite little single rose in a clear, yet full-toned pink. Though not blest with any margin of vigour, ‘Miss Lowe’ is scarcely ever out of flower – a characteristic which it has bequeathed to the teas, monthlies and others. But she appears to be less able to put up with that annoying alien stock than most kinds, and we are henceforth giving her a trial run on her own roots. A warm, free soil with a full share of the sun is what ‘Miss Lowe’ pleads for, with a promise of ample repayment.
