(1 Feb 1958) Page(s) 401. Perpetuals were growing , as well as Tea roses and even one Portland Rose , Jacques Cartier ( 1868 ) . This rose has luxuriant foliage , and flat rose pink flowers tightly packed with small petals . It has the typical " high-shouldered, short-necked look" of this family, so aptly described by Mr. G. S. Thomas in his book "Old Shrub Roses". The fat buds and a ring of leaves appear together at the top of the flower stalk .
