Can you cross a rose with a flower? I was wondering because I just pollenated a mini rose with an oriantal flower and i sont know if its going to work Thanks!
Anthony, nope. "Flowers" aren't in the genus Rosa. Nature didn't intend for different types of plants to interbreed, just as it didn't provide for animals and Humans to "cross". Even crossing different species within the same genus isn't always successful. You may wish to do a little genetic study to understand the "whys" of it.
Roses are like humans as they have blood lines and cannot be crossed with another genus. Sort of like trying to cross a dog with a cat. It just won't succeed.
