Parentage unknown. Schaum and Van Tol (Holland) 1905. Description. The blossoms are large, double, and deep vibrant purple, crimson.

'Scabrosa' x ?. Spicer (England) 1979. Description... apparently available only through English and Swiss nurseries. Semi-double flowers of a mauve-pink shade... large (4 1/2 inches across) and shallow-cupped.

'Schneezwerg' seedling. Svejda (Canadian Explorer Series, Canada) 1976. Description. The blossoms are white, about 2 1/2 inches across and semi-double... yellow stamens... The buds are deep pink and rounded, unusual for a rugosa.

....there once was a 'Mr. John McNab', a rose with deeper pink flowers whose breeding included 'Kamtchatica'. 'Mrs. John McNab' remains available; 'Mr. John McNab' (Skinner, 1938) seems to have vanished from commerce.
