Ernesto Rossi was one of the sons of Marianna Barberis and Luigi, owner, with Alessandro Martini, of the Company Martini & Rossi. He was born in Turin on November 20, 1874. In 1899 married Lydia Neumann, daughter of Napoleone Leumann, a swiss textile magnate with cotton mills near Turin. In 1924 Ernesto Rossi obtained by the king the title of Conte di Montelera. He died on July 22, 1932.
