Elie-Edmond MAQUERLOT, nurseryman, was born on December 23, 1838 in Rosnay (Marne), son of Henri-Eugène and Victoire-Hortense PILLOY.
Around 1862 he married Amélie COUTURIAUX born April 5, 1837 in Tubize (Brabant).
They had two sons:
- Gaston born January 19, 1876 in Fismes, nurseryman, who married Lucie Eugénie DABANCOURT on April 14, 1903 in Braine
- Edgard-Anselme, nurseryman, born September 18, 1863 in Savigny-sur-Ardres (Marne) – died February 18, 1945 in Fismes (Marne). He married Georgette FERY who gave him two sons:

- Raoul Edgard Charles Edmond February 12, 1900 in Fismes and died July 19, 1900 in Fismes
- Karl Edgar Gaston MAQUERLOT born December 14, 1902 in Fismes and died January 12, 1984 in Reims.
It is to him that the unique variety obtained from Edgard Anselme MARQUELOT is dedicated.
