The Rozennamlist clearly indicates that this Bourbon rose (obviously it cannot be a Provins!) 'Honorine Brabant' was bred by Tanne en 1916. Tanne was well known in France as a breeder specialized in Wichuraianas as well as in stripped roses (remember 'Ferdinand Pichard'). I have not been able to find in the references that he discovered this rose Tanne was an amateur in Rouen (Normandy), so we can suppose that he named his roses after a friend of him. It is not clear however, to know if the name is 'Honorine de Brabant' or 'Honorine Brabant', since these 2 names are found for people living around Rouen now. Daniel from Normandy
