Hello, Your photograph of Horace Vernet is of the same pink rose supplied to me by Peter Beales and also matches the one in the roseraie at L'Hay les Roses. However, all the reference descriptions of this rose are that it is red or crimson red. I contacted Peter Beales about this. He is of the opinion that the rose appearing today as Horace Vernet and which he has supplied to me as Horace Vernet (and which is also at L'Hay) is NOT Horace Vernet but a rogue...and possibly the original Horace Vernet has died out. Interesting, don't you think? Best wishes, Robin

I wonder if this rose still exists. The rose on the market under this name is pink, as is the one at L'Hay les Roses. The reference descriptions of it, however, are of a deep red or crimson red rose. Are there any Horace Vernets out there that are genuine? I have the imposter which I call 'Not Horace Vernet'...it is a fine rose and the same as the one at L'Hay (albeit a much better specimen). I would quite like to know what it is!
