oh, help! I have just found a rose in my garden- it had been kind of hidden behind/under a butterfly bush.
It is either Austin's "Cottage Rose" or "Queen of Denmark." I just Can NOT tell which it is! can anyone give me any hints how to tell which rose it is?

You might want to click the REFERENCES tab on the rose page. You will find some very good descriptions of the rose.

thanks Lyn! very helpful. I think I might have to wait till later in the year, and see if she blooms again. I am almost positive it is QUeen of Denmark, but that is based solely on the scent.

The foliage of both roses is very different. The foliage of QofD is more pointed and not a bit glossy. The leaves are more dentate and the old leaves are dark bluish green.

thanks very much. the final bit of info I needed! the rose next to it bloomed, so I can see that on is Qof D and one is Cottage rose!
