Yesterday, I dug in cow manure around all the roses in the front and added some bone meal too. Zephrine has two blooms, and lots of buds; pinkie is starting to get going; I saw one bloom on Peggy, high up on the pergola, everything has buds. Last week, I moved Rio Samba, Hot Cocoa and Pope. They were all either too crowded where they were, or not getting enough sun or both. Even though it was late to move them - they were all leafed out and had buds on them, they are doing well. Rio in particular seems much happier in full sun on the east side of the yard. I moved Pope closer to the house where it will actually get less direct sun. I'm hoping the better soil in the front bed, along with less direct sun, will be easier on it - it seemed to struggle last year, but it was completed crowded out by Homerun and the daisies. I'm worried a little about Madame Antoine Mari - she has one bud, but no new leaves - didn't lose any over the winter, which is amazing considering how cold and wet it was, but no new leaves as of yet. No sign of any spring growth except that one bud.

In the back, looks like Paul is going to bloom well this year - can't wait to see. Felicete is also full of buds. Elie Bouvillian has got two buds and hundreds of blooms; I've still got about 20 in pots that I have to find places for; Bryce dug me about 7 holes yesterday and the day before for planting some of them. I'll do that today. I've got a hole in the front yard I can put one in where the dogwood was (that I moved).

Today I fed nearly all the roses wtih Peter Beales All Natural Rose Care, Wake Up Roses. The only ones I missed were: Paul's, Graham, the unknown white, and malvern hills, which I had to dig up and repot b/c it was sitting in water. Did the same for Graham.
