No way is this Mrs. B.R. Cant! Colouring is far too bright and too blue. Foliage too, should be more spaced and not so delicate. The centre of the Mrs. B. R. C. flower is far more subtle in colouring, with many different PALE shades, quite dull, compared to this photo.

It does look a bit unusual but I think it could be correct. The growth habit is a bit atypical for the variety but I think the character is still there. Cultivars can sometimes look quite different depending on growing conditions.

This may be so, but the foliage is a different story.

We avoid using the term "No Way" as we've often been surprised at the level of variation (as Roberts suggests) possible depending on the environment.

Is there a forum where members exchange info. and ask advice on shared problems? I have looked everywhere with no luck!

It's the Q&A forum. You can get to it from the link on the left. It's soon to be replaced with a much improved version.

I believe I have this rose, until now unidentified. A question: does it have a sticky, piney secretion behind the flower? No-one ever mentions details like this, but Charles de Mills has it too. Some books describe Ipsilanté as having reddish thorns and dark, abundant foliage, but on my plant the new foliage is light green, darkening later in the season.
