For anyone in Zone 8 this could by yours. Pomponella is a monster unleashed. Check out the canes which are mostly cut well back. This thing can handle brutal pruning and shrug it off. Hot southern exposure by the way.

Generous with basal breaks and substantial secondary canes. Well foliated although it needs to be sprayed to keep it that way.

Blooms in prolific clusters. For my taste, it tends to be a bit cluttered when fully open, but still a winner.
