I have grown Margo's Baby for 2 years now. Its grown well for me in some afternoon shade. THe blooms are a cupped peachy color that I really like alot.
Im moving it to the front to be in polyantha collection and i really hope it does well there.
The plant itself is about a 18" tall and 2 ft wide. although a do spray
It also survived a late febuary freeze uncovered and protected. So fairly hardy for a 8A area Id suppose

3 yr old plant now. It has done nothing but produce for me. Large spring flush of its blooms everywhere. I use it as a mailbox planting and it just engulfed it in white flowers. In my area China's are the first to bloom and the first buds are racing to pop already.
More serious note. This rose does get blackspot. Its not horribly debilitating but it wont achieve as well without a regular spray program. Still blooms just get some black leaves with are kinda ugly.
I spray and Ducher is great for me.

I recieved this rose last year. Since then it has done well for me. For a florist rose it made it through an exceptionally tough winter (By SC standards) well.
I only had a few blooms in my time with it last year but they have that charming velvet look to them and the buds are very dark.
I give a rose 3 years to prove itself in my garden. This one has a promising start so far.

I live in columbia and visit the gardens frequently. They are easy access from I-20 and I-26.
This an informal garden setting with roses intermingled with other SC native perenials.
If your looking for ideas on old garden roses I highly recommend Riverbanks. They also have an excellent plant sale in the spring with with some rare plants and usually a couple of old garden roses.
