I haven't found any information about 'Helen Cushing,' other than an online comment that it was bred by Chris Wheatcroft. We have a couple of places to look. Do you have a general idea of when the rose was introduced?

Hi Thank you for your post its very much appreciated, all I can add is this Quote from a TV programme from 1975,His wife Died in 1971 her Maiden namewas Violet Helene Beck,I believe the YELLOW Rose was Named HELEN CUSHING
"Wrote to BBC program "Jim'll Fix It" (1975) asking that a new rose be bred and named after his late wife. Jimmy Savile agreed and the process was filmed ending with the creation of a new strain of yellow rose being presented to Peter."

So the show "Jim'll Fix It" ran between 1975 and 1994. There's a note that Cushing wrote the show to have a rose named for his wife in 1986. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim'll_Fix_It
So maybe we're looking for a yellow rose bred by Chris Wheatcroft named Helen Custing, introduced between 1986 and 1994, but probably closer to 1986.

Hi Thank you There is some discrepancy in the actual Dates on different sites for Peter Cushing ,1975-1986,but I think this is correct.1986
Possibly the most famous recipient of a Jim'll Fix It badge was veteran movie actor Peter Cushing (who also played Doctor Who in two cinematic outings). He wrote to the show in the 1980s to ask if a variety of rose could be named after his late wife.

Hello William and welcome to HMF.
You can click on the MY HMF ACCOUNT and enter some information about yourself and your garden. As much or as little as you want to share. You can also add your garden to HMF and upload a list of roses you grow. Then when you comment on a rose or share information, other site users will know a bit about your location and your interests.
