Hi Emmie:
I don't know if my last message went through, but to repeat, I'd like to use you photo of Duc d'Angouleme in an article i'm writing for the American Rose Society. You and HMF would get photo credit. Please let me know on this as soon as you can. Thanks.

No problem. I'm a member of ARS, my 'real' name is Andrea McCullough, so I'd prefer that name used. Thanks! This is one of my 'pet' roses. A once bloomer, but totally worth the wait, imo.

Oops, wasn't signed in... Yes, of course you may use it. I'd prefer credit be given with my 'real' name - Andrea McCullough. I am an ARS member.

Hello. I could be wrong, but I thought that we used to be able to search for roses by color of stamens (Jacqueline du Pre, for instance, has unusual red stamens), but I don't see that option in the advanced search. Am I missing it somehow?
Thanks Emmie Gray

Sorry, we've never had that option as we do not record stamen color. Good idea though !

First of all - THANK YOU for getting back to me so fast! You're awesome. 8-)
So - I figured out where I saw that - it's on the CD that comes with Botanica's Encyclopedia of Roses! They have a 'red stamens' option, under which they have these roses: (in case you want to add this as a search option) Auguste Gervais Dairy Maid Ellen Willmott Emily Louise Euphrates Flair Innocence Ivory Fashion Jenny Brown Lilac Charm Meg (the one I was looking for!) Mrs. Richard Turnbull Sonnenschim Summer Wine
They also have a 'maroon/purple stamens' search, but I think those could be included in 'red', or 'reddish': Dainty Bess First Light Fruhlingsmorgen White Wings Thanks again - Emmie (Andrea)

Amazing colors in this rose. I enjoy the idea of crossing VanFleet/Brownell sub-zero with a Dot!

Quote from an article entitled "Pernetiana Roses in Japan" by Chan Foujii, Tokio; from the 1935 American Rose Annual, pg. 124:
"Brilliant, dark oriental scarlet overlaying bright golden yellow gives us the unique color of Mme. Raymond Gaujard."
