I am sorry, but I cannot answer your question. In an effort to reduce the size of my pot ghetto, it was one of the plants I took to the plant lotto as I had no ground space in which to plant it. I honestly do not remember much about the color of the new growth, but I do remember that it was a heavy bloomer. As a generalization, I have found that weather/climate can play a role in how red the new growth is on roses that have a red color on new growth.
