This is not the RHS Rose of the Year
It is run by BARB and the annual announcement is normally at RHS Hampton Court flower show. This will change when Hampton Court show has a 'sabbatical'

I think this is on file as RAWbeaute, hybrid hulthemia. I can't see where I read that it was dedicated to Barts' nurses, but I posted a photo of my great-grandmother and colleagues from c. 1882. Photo no 354646

Margaret, I’d love to see that photo, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out how to search photos by ID number! Can you explain how?

In theory helpmefind.com/ then the number should do it, but it's not working for me tonight. Instead, look up RAWbeaute and click on Photos.
I worked at Barts a century later, and saw icicles hanging off the knees of the cherubs in the fountain. A shock for someone from zone 9b.
Cheers,
Margaret

Oh, thank you! That’s a great photo, and what a great story and legacy with you working at the same place as your g-grandmother. Not many can make that claim.

On December 11, 1920 I responded to Cambridgelad who suggested HelpMeFind add ‘Barts Nurse’ RAWbeauty which R. V. Rogers introduced in 2019:
“On the R. V. Roger’s website i have found them carrying a Ronnie Rawlins rose they called ‘Barts Nurse’ but with absolutely no colour or description. I am most reluctant to add a rose like that.”

Today July 12, 2022 R. V. Rogers website brings up the words ‘Barts Nurse’. Section being updated - please come back soon for full details.

It was Cambridgelad who called called ‘Barts Nurse’ RAWbeauty’, a floribunda.
I am not sure if RAWbeaute, a single Hulthemia is what he intended.
Ray and Pauline Martin today call ‘Barts Nurse’ a hybrid tea.
Photos on the internet from Barts League of Nurses org show a double League rose coming soon.
There is also a double apricot photo on Twitter.
