My mother grew this rose in the 1950's. She didn't like the name, but the color was exquisite.

Hello Kuj, I notice in the references 'Nigger Boy' had been referred to as looking like a floribunda (Thomas, 1952) and a polyantha (Hennessey 1954) but I understand it was in fact a hybrid tea. In case we ever come up against it in Australia, what is your memory of what it looked like? And how high was your bush? It really did sound a beautiful thing and it had impeccable parents. Patricia

Patricia...........
I went through all of the REFERENCES you added to HMF about this rose and culled as much information as I could from them and added them to the plant page. Of course, that is not as effective as having someone who has grown the rose offering information about the rose in their gardens, but it's a start.
Smiles, Lyn
