Perhaps the most charming of the helenaes in my opinion. Clusters of dainty lemon yellow flowers fade into white. The flowers are smaller and better shaped than the other helenaes. Extremely vigorous and very modest growing requirements.

Mine is never lemon yellow, maybe due to conditions?
But it is a very nice and vigorous Helenae-hybrid, that grows easily from cuttings. See my earlier comment.

Perhaps! I haven't seen other specimens other than my own so I can't really tell. It's only a few couple individual flowers within a larger cluster that start off as yellow, but soon fade to white to match it's neighbouring flowers.

How many plants is this bush made up of? Looks huge for an Austin rose.

This is one bush on this photo. Yes, the rose is not small. It is a 'fountain' about 6' tall and 5' wide

I was told today that a beautiful white rose that climbs over a gate was a Madame Pierrier (it sounded like "Madame Pear- re-ay"). When I looked for the roseon your web site I could not find it. Any suggestions as to which rose I saw?

It might be Madame Alfred Carriere. Put that name into he search here on Helpmefindroses.com and you can read about it. I think this is the one you might want.
I have heard rose experts say this is a fabulous rose.
