I bought this rose on its own root at a fair in February 2014. It was already green so I kept it in the house until I planted it out in March. Planting it out from its small container was important, the existing wood and leaves were small and fragile but new vital growth from the base appeared and it grew to about 25 cm high. Because of the head start it had received it began to bloom on April 1 and continued to bloom abundantly until autumn. My unsprayed Lupo developed black spot late in the year. I expected that because no rose is spared where I live, but I hope this is will be less of an issue after a year of settling in. The rose grows many small red hips, their appearance in winter is wonderful, especially in the snow.

Hi, according to http://www.meilland.com/en/meilland_news-lomonosov.html Meilland has introduced some new marketing names in Russia that we could note on the individual pages, namely:

Meisponge = Saint Petersburg testimonial®
Meiouscki = Pobeda®
Meiclusif = Tchekhov®
Meitroni = Alexandre Pouchkin®
Meicalanq = Lomonosov®

Best regards

Hi, I saw "NJ 2003 242 A" had won the 2010 Fragrance Prize at the Rose Trials Baden-Baden. I wrote to the breeder NIRP International to identify it and was given this response by Deborah Ghione: "The variety you are looking for took this name: CRAZY FASHION® (Nirpcrazyht)". Therefore I suggest the pages for "NJ 2003 242 A" and "Crazy Fashion" be merged. It also seems two letters were omitted by listing "NIRpcrazy" instead of "Nirpcrazyht" as a synonym.
Best regards

Thank you! The breeder code in the Rose Trials was NIRpcrazy. It seems that NIRP is now propagating this as NIRpcrazyht. Maybe there will be a climbing version, too?

Hello!

I found the ancestry of the rose 'Elbflorenz' by Meilland 2005 on the website of the Rosengarten Dresden at http://www.rosengarten-dresden.de/index.php?id=3&rid=332

It says the parents are 'Aachener Dom' x ('Luis de Funes' x 'Graham Thomas').

Best regards

PS Perhaps this is already on the page and I merely can't see it as a regular user? If so, I apologize.
