I have grown two plants from buds taken from an old plant growing on the side of the King River in Albany West Australia. The shrub had been much neglected but is now fenced and tended. Flowers at the time of buds being taken - mid-summer- were deep cerise. Both plants I have grown on have only produced pale buff/cream with a tinge of cerise flowers.

Discussion over this rose as to whether it is Leontine or August Gervais. This plant was sold to me by Bob Melville sr in 1998 as Leontine Gervais. Flowers are apricot fading to pale cream, once flowering, large - up to 100mm. Flower size is not mentioned in Beales or Thomas but is mentioned as large in Rix.
